Hand chiseled. Cross on top. Name is DOCT J.S. DEANE 1863. Grave faces West. Additional Comments: Cluster of 4 similar graves together and identified in Samuel Pierce Aldredge family legend as "Northern Catholic soldiers". No match found in Union records of any names on stones. One match found in Confederate Ark, Stirman's 1st. Acting Surgeon, James S. Deane. Last known record in file, Paroled from Vicksburg 8 July 1863.
