She was 77 and a native of Avinger, Texas. Religious services at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel, Shreveport, at 4 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Rhonda Yonley, pastor of Morningside United Methodist Church. Survived by two daughters, Patricia Jean Gaspard, Baton Rouge, and Carolyn Roy, Natchitoches; two sisters, Lessie Russell, Mineola, Texas, and Mattie Jean Sharber, Hughes Springs, Texas; a brother, Charlie Powell, Mansfield; and five grandchildren, Mark Roy, Julie Roy Longlois, Scott Powell Gaspard, Gregory Thomas Gaspard and Patricia Angelle Gaspard. She was a member of Caddo Heights Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. Family requests memorial donations be made to American Heart Association.
