The following is the obituary of William Addison Jervis Worth Johnson who was born September 09, 1858 in Missouri and died 1935 in Atlanta, Cass County, Texas. He was the son of William Addison Johnson and Sarah Miranda Ross. WA and Sarah were married March 05, 1854 in Henry County, Missouri. Sarah was the daughter of Samuel Ross and Margaret Gray Ross of Henry County, Missouri. The obituary appeared in a Cass County Texas newspaper in 1935. W. A. J. W. Johnson, 77, Died Monday W. A. J. W. Johnson, 77, died at his home in the Smyrna community Monday after a week's illness. Funeral services were held at the family residence Tuesday afternoon by Rev. E. P. Smith, pastor of the Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. A. E. Rider, pastor of the 1st Methodist Church, Atlanta. Burial in Beech Creek cemetary in charge of R. H. Price funeral home. Mr. Johnson was born in Missouri but moved to Cass County with his parents {actually with his father and step-mother, Harriet Mays - Sarah Ross died in Arkansas on the way from Missouri to Texas} and spent 70 years of his life here. He was one of the county's best citizens and farmers, a Christian and took an active part in the affairs of his country. He is survived by one son Hubbard (Tank) {family records show his name was "Herbert Byron", not Hubbard} Johnson, and ten grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters: Richard Johnson, San Benito; Eugene Johnson, San Antonio; Ed Johnson, Richmond; J. D. Johnson, Hot Springs; T. G. Johnson and Mrs. Wesley Chamblee, Atlanta; Mrs. B. C. Middleton and Mrs. W. A. Lasley, Texarkana.
