Joseph Acker was born September 16, 1774 in South Carolina and died August 8, 
1855. Joseph was married to Ruth Alexander Acker 1798 South Carolina. 

Joseph and Ruth's children are: Christopher Columbus Acker, Alfred Acker, 
Lucinda Acker Pogue Burns, James E. Acker, Amos Acker, Jane Acker Herring, 
Artemesa Acker Sharp, Alexander Acker, William Acker, Desdemond Acker Walker 
Faulkner, Terresa Acker Bryson Fisher, Peter Acker, Margareta Acker Hullum, and 
Mary Acker Bryson.

Joseph's parents are: Peter Acker and Jane Sutherland Acker. They were settlers 
to America from Germany. Joseph's siblings are: William Acker, Mary Acker Grace, 
Nancy Clement Acker McDavid, Alexander Acker, Elizabeth Acker Taylor, Susan 
Acker Vandiver, Amos Acker, and Peter Newton Acker.

Joseph fought in the War of 1812.
