This is a cemetery reading from The Thorny Trail (Midland Genealogical Soc.) Summer-Fall 1978. Contributed by Dora Fern Durfey (Mrs. Velman)Warrick Box 1109 Wellington, TX 79095 Buck Creek Cemetery, Childress County, TX. Read by DFD Warrick, and her cousin Cliff Campbell, 30 April 1978 Buck Creek Cemetery is located about 2 ‡ miles south of Loco in northern Childress County. It is 6 tenths of a mile north of Hwy 62 on the first road after crossing Buck Creek bridge going east from Hwy 87.There are 8 to 10 acres in the fenced area and most of the graves are in the south half of the fenced area towards the eastern fence with a few graves at the very southwest corner. The reading was done by rows. At my recent visit this did not seem to be practical as rows were very hard to distinguish other than those in the very middle of the cemetery. There are more graves present than when this was read. In fact there were graves as recent as 1988. I did not have time to read the new graves. The following is as reads on the original document. Changes or additions will be noted with bold type. (Note: the above paragraph contributed by Ken Taylor, who visited this cemetery on 10 Sep. 1998. His notes are included within ( ). ) Row 1 Henry A.
