R. (Red) Wright called his "special hog-tie," Ollie Oliver Melton and Alvin O. (Chick) Rogers, former members of Matt Kimes' bank robbery gang, left Dallas Monday for trial in Lubbock. Federal Judge T. Whitfield Davidson will preside a their trial Tuesday for the $17,500 robbery of the Morton Bank at Morton, Cochran County. The men were taken by automobile by Wright and two deputies , Rufus Pevehouse and Fred Burney. The extra manacles were to prevent a rumored liberation attempt. Saw blades and large amounts of money have been taken from Melton on at least two occasions in the Dallas County jail.
