Hayley, now in the possession of Mary Love Berryman, Tyler, TX "The Colorado-Concho Confederate Reunion Association was organized at Maverick, Texas, during a joint reunion of Richard Coke Camp No. 600 and Henry E. McCulloch Camp No. 557 U. C. V. August 3rd, 1901, for the purpose of holding annual district reunions, members to be composed of, 1st of all Confederate eligible to membership of U.C.V. Camps, 2nd all persons eligible to join the United Sons of the Confederates 3rd all women eligible to join the Daughters of the Confederacy, and at the reunion August 7th, 1902, San Angelo, Texas, it was decided to receive as members approved persons who were and are in sympathy with the principals fought for by the Confederate soldiers. The first officers of the Association elected were: (48 members enrolled.) Major J. W. RACHFORD, of Paint Rock, President. Adjutant H. H. HALEY, of Robert Lee, Vice-Pres. Adjutant H. D. PEARCE, Of Ballinger, Sec. and Treas. C. F. DICKENSON, of Ballinger, Officer of the Day. Rev. M. S. SMITH, of Ballinger, Chaplain. The first reunion was held near San Angelo, Texas, August 6th and 7th, 1902, and was a decided success. The district composed the following counties: Runnels, Concho, Schleicher, Sutton, Crockett, Irion, Sterling, Tom Green, Coke and parts of Nolen and Taylor, and the following officers were elected: Major J. W. RATCHFORD, of Paint Rock, President. Mrs. A. J. BAKER, of San Angelo, Vice-President. Miss Fannie PAYNE, of Coke County, Vice-President for Coke County. Mrs. J. E. ARMSTRONG, Vice-President for Sterling county, post office Sterling. Mrs. J. B. CURRIE, Vice President for Concho county, post office Paint Rock. Mrs. C. F. DICKENSON, Vice President for Runnels county, post office Ballinger. H. D. Pearce, Secretary and Treasurer, Ballinger. C. F. Dickenson, Officer of Day, Ballinger. Rev. H. S. Smith, Chaplain, Ballinger. The 2nd annual reunion was also held at same place near San Angelo on the Concho river and was well attended. The old officers were unanimously re-elected, with the exception of Rev. M. S. Smith, he having moved away. Rev. W. L.
