A group of relatives were present for a turkey dinner, while many friends gathered from 4 to 8 p.m. to extend best wishes and congratulations. The couple received many beautiful gifts. A daughter, Mrs. Floryne Evans of El Paso, Mrs. Howard Preslar and Mrs. Guy Denman were in charge of arrangements for the anniversary celebration. Mr. Preslar and Alice Gartman were married Dec. 25, 1907, by a Baptist minister in Robert Lee. They and other members of the wedding party drove up in front of the parsonage and remained in their buggies while the ceremony was performed. A wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's parents at Sanco. Both were members of well known familis in the Sanco community and became acquainted while attending school at Sanco. Mr. Preslar was only a year old when his parents moved to Coke County. The Gartman family arrived soon after the turn of the century. The Preslars have a son and two daughters. The son, Howard Preslar of Borger, was unable to be present for the anniversary. The daughters are Mrs. Louise Whiteside of Adamville in Lampasas County, and Mrs. Floryne Evans of El Paso, both of whom with their families were present. Mr. Preslar is the only survivor of a family of eight boys and three girls. Mrs. Preslar's two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Reid, Sr. and Mrs. Guy Denman, and a brother, Bryan Gartman, were present. They have spent all their married life in Coke County except for a few years when they lived in Taylor and Nolan. Mr. Preslar is 69 and his wife is 67 years of age and both have good health. They reside on the old Preslar place and have a new modern home on Highway 208. Besides the home place in which he is part owner, Mr. Preslar also runs a section of ranch land southwest of Sweetwater. He had some pretty good crops the past year and made enough feed and grain to carry his stock through the winter. The Preslars have a wide circle of friends in Coke and adjoining counties who join in extending congratulations.
