All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/txfiles.htm *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Robert Lee Coke County, TX - August 18, 1989 PRICE Mr. and Mrs. Willie Price, of Robert Lee will be honored at a 50th wedding anniversary reception Sunday, August 20, at the Robert Lee Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. hosted by their children, Ed and Maureen Price, Gary and Margaret Price, Jamie and John McCurdy, Jeff Price and Cindy Price. An invitation is extended to all who would like to share in the joyous occasion. Daisy Bloodworth, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Bloodworth, and Willie Price, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Price, (all of Silver), were married Sept. 16, 1939 at Colorado City with the Rev. A. D. Leach officiating. Guests attending the wedding ceremony were Raymond Bloodworth, Ruby Bloodworth, Waymon Robertson, Louise Price, Mary Jacobs, Rex Green, Mr. and Mrs. Warnock Hipp and William Bloodworth, grandfather of the bride. The couple had lived at Silver a short time before moving to the J. W. Garner horse ranch at Girvin. Wilie also worked on the Harry Howard ranch near McCamey. He then went into defense work doing construction jobs and then on to structural iron work building blimp and airplane hangars. These jobs took them from Brownwood and San Angelo to Arizona, Oregon and Wyoming. In 1944 Willie went into the army and served in the Transportation Corp in the C B I theatre, stationed in India. After his discharge, he returned to West Texas, working in the oil field. He went to work for Atlantic Refinery Co. They lived at McCamey, Crane, Sprayberry and Odessa. On Jan. 1, 1962 they transferred to the Rocky Mountain region and lived at Casper and Gillette, Wyoming and Akron, Colo. In July of 1981, they returned to Silver where they lived until moving to Robert Lee. The Prices have eight grandchildren, Gregory Price, a sophomore at Rice University and a member of Rice Owls basketball tem, Kimberly Price and Douglas Price of Littleton, Colo., Lora Price, who attends college in Minnesota, Amada, Martha and Matthew Price of Red Wing, Minn. and Jim McCurdy of Akron, Colo.
