W. Service, Jr. and Ida Belle Eaton were married August 10, 1948, in Maverick, Texas. The Reverend Fred Blake officiated the ceremony before a Tuesday night revival service. The groom graduated from Robert Lee High School and was stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base. The bride is a 1948 graudate of Robert Lee High School. Mr. and Mrs. Service have made their home in Robert Lee, pursuing their farming and ranching interests. Mr. Service was employed by Sun Oil Company and Oryx Energy Company for thirty-one years, while Mrs Service corraled their five children and assortment of grandchildren. A reception honoring the couple on the fifieth anniversary of their marriage was held August 8, 1998, at the Robert Lee Baptist Church, followed by a family dinner at Zentner's Daughter. The couple's children and their spouses: Joe and Kathy Brasher, John Service, Jay Lyn and Celeste Service, Gary and Konny Davis, and Rod and Kaylan Gardner hosted the celebration.
