(SC) - Members of the Methodist Church and their friends and former members observed the 50th anniversary of the founding of the church here last Sunday with an all-day program in which present and former leaders participated. Special speakers were The Rev. Ira F. Key, Bay City, the Rev. W. E. Anderson, Desdemona; the Rev. W. N. Dunson, Fort Worth, and others. W. L. Hayley, Norton, a former superintendent of the Sunday School, opened the day's program by presiding at the Sunday School. The Rev. C. R. Hardy, the present pastor, paid tribute to several of the pioneers of the church, including Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rawlings, "Grandmother" McClesky, oldest member in the church, who is past 90, "Grandmother" Fletcher, 97, years of age, who was the oldest person attending the services, and a number of other persons. Mrs. R. L. Keys gave the church history at the afternoon program and tribute was paid members of the descendants of charter members. At Sunday School services 234 persons were present, 106 of them being visitors. Preaching services in the evening concluded the special program. Out-of-town visitors included: Dr. and Mrs, W. R.
