(SC)-Planss are being completed today for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Bronte Methodist Church, organized by a small group of church leaders near here in 1891. An all-day program is planned with several former pastors, pioneer leaders, and present members of the church participating. The program is to open at 10 a. m. Sunday with W. L. Hayley, Norton, formerly a superintendent of the Sunday school and an early day member of the church, in charge of exericises. At the 11 o'clock hour the Rev. Ira F. Key, Bay City, and son of the late Dr. and Mrs. W. F. Key, charter members of the church, is to preach. The Rev. Mr. Key is the only pastor the local church has ever ordained. From 12 until 2 p. m. will be the dinner hours with singing led by Mrs. Alfred Taylor and music by the Bronte High School Band. The afternoon sermon is to be delivered by the Rev. W. F. Anderson, a former pastor, who served the church for six years, longer than any other of the 23 preachers. The Rev. Anderson now lives at Desdemona. In the evening the Rev. W. N. Dunson, another former pastor, is to preach. He is now at the Broadway Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Invitations have been sent to all former members of the church and others throughout the section. An unusually large crowd is expected to participate in every phase of the program.
