The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Robert Lee, Coke County, TX - August 8, 2003 Arrott Reunion Descendants of Jim and Nora Arrott held their annual reunion on July 25th, 26th, 2003, at the Bronte Community Center. Jim and Nora Arrott had 9 boys and 2 girls, one child died at birth, another was killed at nine years of age. The remaining 9 children, there are only three living: Leeman Arrott of Palo Pinto; Exa Smith of Miles; and Buck Arrott of Stephenville. Also, there is Marie Arrott, wife of Clarence Arrott (deceased), of Bronte, Grace Arrott, wife of Houston Arrott (deceased) and Teena Arrott, wife of Jack Arrott (deceased) both of San Angelo. Families represented and present were: Clarence (deceased) and Marie Arrott had 31 attending; James Arrott (deceased) had 22 present; Monroe Arrott (deceased) had 25 present; Leeman Arrott had 5 present; Exa Smith had 8 present; Buck Arrott had 6 present; Houston Arrott (deceased) wife Grace was present. The only families not represented were the families of Weldon and Keeney Arrott, who are both deceased. This registered a total of 99 relatives and 3 guests who attended the reunion. The farthest distance traveled was Leeman's son, John Arrot and wife, Shirley, of Clarendon, Oklahoma. The oldest present was Marie Arrott, wife of Clarence, who is 98 1/2 years old. Friday afternoon the overnight campers came and the cooks started preparing the meat for Saturday's meal, barbecue and all the trimmings. Saturday was filled with fun activities such as golfing, polish horsehsoes ("crazy golf"), washer pitching and skeet shooting. The skeet shooting was quite entertaining for all who participated as well as the spectators. Family group pictures were taken followed by the blessing of a wonderful family and the excellent food. Lots of visiting, reminiscing, and catching up with everyone's families was enjoyed by all. Permission granted by The Observer/Enterprise for publication in the Coke County TXGenWeb Archives.
