The reunion was held in the recreation center in Robert Lee. There were 66 relative and friends of the family present. The late Thomas Rudolph (T. R.) Harmon was the son of the late Cephus and Clara Belle (Sparks) Harmon. The late Amanda Elvira (Mandy) Sparks Harmon was the daughter of the late Matthew Marion and Almeda King Sparks. The family of T. R. and Mandy Harmon present for the 62nd reunion were Floyd and Jessie Harmon. J. D. and Mary Jo Harmon, Nola Harmon. Bobby and Jeffie Roberts, Douglas, Denise, Kacee, and James Roberts, Marshall, Sheri, and Stewart Millican, Joe and Dee Anna Harmon, all of Robert Lee. Alf and Dorothy Harmon, Randle Harmon, Wayne and Dorene Mashburn, Rena Johnson, Jason Harmon, Jackie and Darlene Boyd, Ardie Harmon, Kristi and Brittany Briley, Jerrel and Lavelle Harmon, and Brint, Robin, and Bryason Harmon all of San Angelo; Lawana Perry of Carlsbad; Jerry and Janie Harmon of Weatherford; Milton (Bill) and Dorothy Harmon of Waxahachie; Clint, Sharon, Kelcie and Shayla Harmon, and James and Stormy Senger all of Midland. Also, Sharon Rohmfeld, Judy, Travis, and Blake Holle all of Ballinger; Frank, Mandy, Erin, and Brandon Box of Deer Park; Sheila Farrar and Lauren Hammerton of Houston; Troy, Susan, and Cayla Millican of Sterling City; and Tammy Mason of Bronte. Other descendent of the late Joe C. Clara Belle (Sparks) Harmon present was their granddaughter - Shirley Harmon - Lay of Midland - daughter of Mrs. George (Ruby) and the late George Harmon. Because of bad health and a grandson's wedding, Ruby Harmon missed her first reunion in the 62 years. Descendants of the late Mathew Marion and Almeda King Sparks present were Marion Lether Sparks, Shirley Thomas, and Elwanda Jones all of San Angelo. They are children of the late Luther and Violet Sparks. They all grew up in Robert Lee. Friends of the family present were Mandy Bergeron of Houston; Winnie Pitcock, and R. C. and Mary Patterson of Robert Lee. Douglas Roberts barbecued the briskets and port ribs, Sheila and Jeffie prepared chicken strips and everyone brought delicious food to go with the meat purchased by those present. Jeffie Roberts and Jerrel Clint Harmon welcomed everyone, then Jerrel Clint lead the group in prayer. Jeffie conducted a short meeting, those present "Thanked" Douglas for cooking the delicious barbecue meat, he agreed to cook again next year. Lawana and Dorene told the group of the many hours spent by Jeffie, Bobby, Sheila, and Douglas organizing, cooking, purchasing, and preparing for the reunion. They were thanked by all. Everyone wished Jerrel Clint a "Happy Birthday" as June 2 is his birthday. DeeAnna Harmon told about the "Relay for Life" team event to FIGHT CANCER. Many of the younger Harmon family will participate in the WALK June 8-9, 2001, in San Angelo Stadium. Delicious food, visiting, golfing, horseshoes, washers, dominoes, cards, picture taking, and swimming were enjoyed by all. The weather was very hot - 100 degrees.
