Obituary: Milton Eugene Lasswell, Feb. 4, 1958 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines July 2015 *********************************************************************** The Bronte Enterprise, Coke County, February 7, 1958 Funeral Services Held Wednesday for M. E. Lasswell Funeral services for Milton Eugene Lasswell were conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First Methodist Church in Bronte. Mr. Lasswell died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 4 at his home here. The Rev. Lin Loeffler, pastor of the local Methodist Church conducted the funeral services. He was assisted by the Rev. Douglas Brown, pastor of the First Baptist Church here. Burial was in Fairview cemetery under direction of Clift Funeral Home of Bronte. Pallbearers were grandsons, Royce Fancher, Bobby Lasswell, Keith Lofton, Lonnie Forman, Binks McCutchen, Edsel McDaniel, Lee Craig and Kenneth Bradbury. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lum Lasswell of Bronte and Melvin Lasswell of Sweetwater; three daughters, Mrs. Rome (Laura) Richards, Mrs. Floyd (Elsie) Fancher and Miss Myrtle Lasswell, all of Bronte; eight grand children and 3 great great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Anna Breedlove of Lubbock; Mrs. Fannie Calloway of Maybell, Colo., and Mrs. Elsie Greathouse of Sweetwater. Mr. Lasswell was a pioneer of the Bronte area, and remembered many incidents of early day life in Coke County. He was born October 15, 1877 in Bosque county, the son of the late George Columbus and Margaret Allen Lasswell. He was married Feb. 22, 1899, to Miss Mary Elizabeth Pruitt.
