H. Maxwell of Bronte: Rites Today Mrs. W. H. (Ava) Maxwell, longtime Coke County resident, died Saturday, Nov. 28, at her Bronte home after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Bronte Methodist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery under direction of Clift Funeral Home. Mrs. Maxwell was born Aug. 17, 1867 in Illinois and came to Texas in 1897. Her parents were J. M. and Melissa Bruce Jones. She had lived in Coke County since 1907. She was married in Fulton, Ky. in 1895. Mr. Maxwell died in 1937. She had been a member of the Methodist Church most of her life. Survivors include one son, W. H. Maxwell, Jr. of Bronte: four daughters, Mrs. I. M. Cumbie and Mrs. Ernest Ivey, both of Bronte, Mrs. Arthur Tubb of Robert Lee and Mrs. Earl Barr of Ballinger; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
