Obituary: Jim R. Simpson, 63, Held Here Saturday Funeral services were conducted here Saturday afternoon for Jim R. Simpson, well known Bronte resident for 38 years. Rites were held in the Church of Christ with Leon Sharp, Minister, officiating. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery in Bronte under direction of Cliff Funeral Home. Simpson was born February 24, 1888 in Goliad, Texas. He was married to Eula Jean Nelson on December 10, 1908 at Axtel, Texas. The couple moved to Bronte in 1919 and had lived here since that time. Following a period of poor health, Mr. Simpson's death came Friday, June 15, in Waco. Mr. Simpson had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1911. He was baptized into the church by W. A. Bentley at Mt. Calm, Texas. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World lodge. Six local men were pall-bearers. They were O. R. McQueen, R. S. Walton, George Wrinkle, Buddy Kirkland, John Rogers and Leonard Fletcher. Surviving are Mrs. J. R. Simpson and seven children. The sons are M. R. (Jack) Simpson of Arlington, J. T. (Buddy) Simpson of Waco, Ted Simpson of Bronte and Billy Charles Simpson, who is a member of the US Army. Daughters are Mrs. Ruby Mae Johnson, Mrs. Lola Jean Rogers and Mrs. Gladys Johnson, all of Waco. There are four grandchildren. Survivors include three brothers and two sisters. They are Dr. J. D. Simpson of Austin, Cyrus Simpson of Abilene, Grady Simpson of Littlefield, Mrs. P. C.
