Funeral Services Held Tuesday for John W. Taylor, 73

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Central Baptist Church 
for John W. Taylor, 73, who died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the Big Spring 
Veterans' Hospital.

The Rev. Wayne N. Stout, pastor, was in charge of the services.  Burial
followed at the west Fort Chadbourne cemetery under direction of Clift 
Funeral Home of Bronte.

Mr. Taylor had been in ill health for more than a year and had been 
hospitalized for several weeks.

A native of Ackworth, Ga., Mr. Taylor was born April 21, 1891.  He was
married to Grace Williams July 26, 1947.  Mrs. Taylor died 
Dec. 12, 1962.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include one stepson, Richard Miller of San Antonio; one
stepdaughter, Mrs. Aliene Gray of Francisville, Ill.; two brothers, 
Andrew Taylor of Ballinger and Nish Taylor of Bronte; four sisters, 
Mrs. Roxie Culp of Ballinger, Mrs. Sadie Gurley of San Angelo, Mrs. 
Martha Whitlow of Albuquerque, N.M., and Miss Mandy Taylor of Bronte; 
and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rex Saunders of Blackwell, Floyd Fancher, J. F. Hughes,
T. F. Sims, Preston Davis, and Wylie Clark, all of Bronte.
