Rites at Norton, Texas for Mrs. W. H. McKown 

Funeral services for Mrs. W. H. McKown, 79, longtime resident of 
Runnels County, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Norton Methodist 
Church.
  
Burial was in the Wingate Cemetery under direction of Allen Davis 
Funeral Home of Ballinger.

Mrs. McKown died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Ballinger 
Memorial Hospital after a four month illness.

Mrs. McKown, the former Viola Drake, was born Feb. 10, 1890 in 
Falls County.
  
She came to Runnels County in 1898.  The Family settled in the Oak Creek 
Community.  She was married to W. H. McKown June 27, 1907 in Norton.  
He died June 29, 1963.

Survivors include two sons, Bill McKown of Bronte and Aubrey McKown of 
Yuma, Ariz.; three daughters; Mrs. Wade Carter of Ballinger, Mrs. Louise 
Stubblefield of Happy and Mrs. Faye Ford of Farwell; one brother, 
Ed Drake of Waco; twelve grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 
three step grandchildren.
