N. McKinney, former Bronte and Colorado City resident at Gommert Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial was in Sandy Creek cemetry at Rockdale. Mr. McKinney, 73, died at his home in Rogers, March 24, after an extended illness. He was born Aug. 1, 1890 at San Augustine, Texas and married Iva Martha Gibson Jan. 4, 1989 at Davilla, Texas. He moved to West Texas in 1918 and lived many years in the Blackwell- Bronte area before moving to Colorado City in 1944. He moved to Rogers in 1956. Survivors are his wife, six daughters: Mrs. Susan Young, Mrs. Jeanne McDowell, Mrs. Mary Marshall, all of Rogers; Mrs. Vivian Carr of Brownfield, Mrs. Dorothy Kirchman of Junction and Mrs. Marie Hall of Kermit; three sons, Melvin Jr. of Christoval, Hubert and John McKinney of Colorado City; one sister, Mrs. Robert Poston of Lexington; forty-two grandchildren and forty-three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons, Martin, Mack and James Young of Houston, John Young and Richard McDowell of Rogers and George Kirchman of Junction.
