The Rev. R. W. Blackmon, pastor, officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery here under direction of Cliff Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ralph Scott, Jr., Darwin Scott, James Scott, Doyle Scott, Delbert Coalson and J. W. Athey. Mrs. Scott, a resident of Bronte since she was 9 years old, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 1962 in the Bronte Hospital following a heart attack. She was admitted to the hospital only a few hours before her death. She was born May 19, 1880 in Erath Co., Texas, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Rodgers. She was married to Joseph Lee Scott, who died January 19, 1924. She was a member of the Kickapoo Baptist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 517, not now active. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ray Coalson, Bronte and Mrs. LeRoy Deppee, San Antonio; three sons, Lee Roy Scott, Denver City, Daniel Scott, Dallas and Joe Ed Scott, Bronte; two brothers A. E. Rodgers, Hobbs, New Mexico, and Henry Rodgers, Devine; one sister, Mrs. S. O. Jackson, Bronte; 28 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
