Obituary: D. K. Glenn, February 1973 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Feb 2015 *********************************************************************** San Angelo Standard Times, Tom Green County, February 8, 1973 Bronte Services Scheduled Friday for D. K. Glenn D. K. Glenn, 61, of Bronte, died at 2:28 p.m. Wednesday in Shannon Hospital in San Angelo after an illness. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Bronte with burial in Fairview Cemetery directed by Newby Funeral Home. He was born June 11, 1911 in Bronte and was a rancher. He had spent his life in Bronte. He was chairman of Coke County School Board at the time of his death. He had been a director of the Coke County Kickapoo Water Board, was recently awarded a 10 year plaque for service to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene and was Coke County Democratic Chairman 10 years. Mr. Glenn was a member of Bronte Noonday Lions Club, had served as director of Concho Valley Boy Scout Council and had been a director of First National Bank of Bronte 27 years. Mr. Glenn was a director of Coke County Soil and Water Conservation District and a member and trustee of First United Methodist Church of Bronte. He was graduated Odessa High School in 1929 and attended San Angelo Business College. He was married to Betty Butner in Bronte May 15, 1935. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Don Glenn of Brownwood, Eddie Glenn and Gene Glenn both of San Angelo; five brothers, J. B. Glenn and Dale Glenn, both of Dumas, Vernon Glenn of Amarillo, Clark Glenn and Earl F.
