PATE

Mrs. Katie Stroud Pate, 82 died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 1975 
in Golden Holiday Nursing Home in Baird, Texas after a long illness.  
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Bailey Funeral Home in 
Clyde, Texas.
 
Johnny Snow, minister of South Park Church of Christ in Abilene, will 
officiate.  Burial will be in Robert Lee Cemetery.
 
She was born Jan 21, 1893 in Stockdale, Texas, the daughter of Merritt 
and Fatima Jane Appling Stroud.  She married Samuel Thomas Pate July 26, 
1923 in Robert Lee.  She and S. T. moved from Robert Lee in 1940 to 
Callahan County, where she lived until her death. She was a member of 
South Park Church of Christ in Abilene.

Survivors include a son, Jim Pate of Rt. 1, Baird; a stepson, L. T. Pate 
of Denver City; a stepdaughter Mrs. Ruth Barker of Lufkin; a sister 
Mrs. Viva Roberts of San Angelo; four grand-children; several nieces 
and nephews.

Her husband S. T. Pate died in 1956. She was preceded in death by four 
brothers and a sister.
