Obituary: Joseph Myrick (Joe) Hester, July 1, 1989 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines May 2011 *********************************************************************** The Bronte Enterprise, Coke County, TX, July 1989 HESTER Joe Hester, 74 passed to the other side at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 1989, in his home in Bronte. Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 3, at the First Baptist Church in Bronte with the Rev. R. W. Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bronte under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Joe was born Joseph Myrick October 4, 1914, to Ida Mae and Robert Wyatt Hester in Sterling County. He is survived by his wife Marguerite of the home; his children, Bob and Wife, Jillian of Richardson, Wayne and wife Debi of Randolph, Armilda Colvin and husband Steve of San Angelo, Janice Ware and husband Jerry of Grape Creek, Don of DeLeon, Kay Vaughn of Oklahoma City; sister, Mozelle Smith of Bronte; a brother, George of Weatherford; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha, and son Donald, in 1975; and his daughter Deene in 1974. Pallbearers will be Rupert Robbins, Tony Barrett, James Vaughn, Donald Cooper, Bobby Blaylock and Jimmy Lee.
