R. McQueen BRONTE: Omah Roy (Ole Man) McQueen, 90, died Thursday in Angelo Community Hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, directed by Shaffer Funeral Home. He was born July 4, 1897, in Oklahoma Territory. He moved to Coke County in 1911 in a covered wagon. He was married to Lola Rawlings Jan. 29, 1920, in Sweetwater. He was a farmer and rancher all his life. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bronte for 57 years and was a 50-year member of Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his wife Lola McQueen; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Paul McGuire of Bronte; one grandson and his wife, John Paul and Kathy McGuire of San Angelo; two granddaughters and their husbands, Barbara and Jim Good of Houston and Paula and Hugh Roger of San Antonio; four great-grandchildren, Jason Barnett of Houston, Ryan John McGuire of San Angelo, Mackenzie Lee Roger of San Antonio, Jennifer Jerea Roger of San Antonio; three nieces and two nephews.
