Collier (jomar@wcc.net) January 13, 2010 ******************************************************************************* The Observer/Enterprise, Bronte, Coke County, Texas - September 24, 1993 HARPER Funeral services were held at 10 am on Wednesday at the Robert Lee Baptist Church for Joyce Harper. Burial was in Paint Creek Cemetery, west of Robert Lee, directed by Shaffer Funeral Home. Officiant for the services was the Rev. Roy Epperson. Mrs. Harper, 65, Suffered an apparent heart attack at her home in Robert Lee early Monday morning, September 20. She died a short time later in Shannon Medical Center where she was taken by West Coke County EMS ambulance. She was born January 6, 1928, in Amarillo and had been a Robert Lee resident since 1985, previously living in Goldsmith for 33 years. She was a homemaker, a volunteer for the West Coke County Nursing Home, and a member of Robert Lee Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Alvin Harper of Robert Lee; her mother, Sally Hodo of Ector County; two sons, Harold Harper of Angleton and John Robert Harper of Tulia; two daughters, Nancy Mattox of Maryland and Linda Sims of Virginia; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers for the services included R. L. Flanagan, David Key, Pete Prentice, Zeddie Beal, Weldon Fikes, and Cuin Norvell, all of Robet Lee.
