BERNICE HAVINS ROBERTS

Bernice Havins Roberts, 98, of Robert Lee, died Friday, Nov. 15, 
1996, at the West Coke County Nursing Home. Mrs. Roberts was born 
April 19, 1898 in Robert Lee to Milton H. and 
Clara Wyatt Havins.  She married Ed S. Roberts,  January  21, 1920.  
She was a lifetime resident of Robert Lee and was a homemaker and a 
member of the Primitive Baptist Church.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed in 1975, one son, Gene 
in 1982; and one grand-daughter, Brenda in 1950.
                                                                                   
Survivors include one son, Travis and his wife Katie, of San Angelo; 
two grand-daughters, Marla Roberson of San Angelo and Janis Ward and 
her husband, Randy, of Lubbock; five great-grandsons; and three 
great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, 
Martha Havins of Robert Lee and many nieces and nephews.
                                                                                                                                             
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, in the 
Robert Lee Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.  Arrangements 
are by Shaffer Funeral Home.
                                                                     
The family will be at the funeral home from 2:30 until the service time 
and will meet at the home of Kay Taylor after the service.
