Graveside service was held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 9, in the Sanco Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Robert Lee. Alvin was born July 20, 1936 in Menard. He graduated from high school in San Angelo, spending most of his life in this West Texas area. He was a Navy veteran, and worked as an electrician. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas Alvin Harris and Ozella Harris; one brother, James Floyd Harris; and one niece, Charwayne Harris. Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Thomas C. and Dewayne Harris of Scottsburg, Indiana and Eddie Lee and Jean Harris of Salem, Indiana; one sister and her husband, Nada and C. L. Sparks of Antioch, California; ten nieces and nephews, Holly Richey, Clint Harris, Dawnetta Thompson, Rita Lemarr, Teresa Schirbeair, Tammy Goss, Lisa Harris, Felicia Sparks, Carrie Sparks, and Trey Sparks, and a number of great-nieces and nephews.
