Dayton Walston, former RLHS football coach, died September 29, 1997, 
in Anson, Texas.  Services were held October 1, 1997 at First Baptist
Church in Anson with the Rev. Mike Walton Officiating.  Burial 
followed at 4:00 pm in Menard Cemetery in Menard, Texas

He is survived by wife, Hazel, 2 sons and daugher-in-laws, William 
and Rose Walston and David and Jane Walston and one brother Cecil Dea
Walston, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Dayton taught at RLHS during the 1941-42 school year.  During his term, 
three of his football players were killed in an automobile accident
December 5, 1941, Jack Deen Tubb, Lloyd Higgins, and Jackie Boy Latham.
