Services were held at Southside Church of Christ in Robert Lee at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 23, 1997. Burial followed in Robert Lee Cemetery. Frank Daniels was officiant for the service. Born April 4, 1915, she was 82. She grew up at the Paint Creek community from 1919 until 1952 when she moved to Irving. Mrs. Jones graduated from RLHS in 1931 and married J. T. (Bud) Jones May 13, 1933. She and her husband retired to the country at Hermleigh, Texas, 24 years ago. She is survived by her husband Bud Jones, daughters, Wayanna Watson, Rodeo, New Mexico, and Kalita Torti, Irving, Texas; son and daughter- in-law, Jnn Kyle and LaDon Jones, Pilot Point, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Tommie Jo and Garth Boyles, Midland, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Seven grandsons and one great-grandson served as pallbeareres. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Church of Christ for sixty three years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ivy Kerley and brother, Bruce Kerley, who were residents of Coke County for many years.
