Funeral services were held at 10 am on Saturday, August 22, 1998, at the Robert Lee Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Robert Lee Cemetery. The services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Jessie Faye was born on November 16, 1920, in Bartleseville, Oklahoma. She was the third child of Emmett and Gertrude Burgess. They moved to the Edith Community of Coke County in 1926. She attended school at Green Mountain and in Robert Lee, graduating from Robert Lee High School in 1940. In 1920 she married Carl Brock, a lifelong resident of Coke County, until his death on January 13, 1969. In 1970, she married Leon Russell, a life-long resident of Runnels County, until his death in November of 1988. She was employed at the Coke County ASCS office for 37 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Robert Lee Baptist Church. Jessie Faye is survived by two sons, Larry Carl Brock of Seminole, and Jon Bill Brock of Robert Lee; two sisters Allean Snow of El Paso and Madine Burgess of Robert Lee; and three grandchildren, Sabrina, Amanda, and Crystal Brock.
