San Angelo Standard-Times, August 6, 1999 SADYE CHUMLEY ROBERT LEE - Sadye Chumley, 104, of Robert Lee died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at the Robert Lee Care Center. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Robert Lee Baptist Church with Benny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Robert Lee Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be the deacons of the Robert Lee Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Weldon Fikes, David Key, Jim Tabor and Les Copeland. Sadye was born in Coke County to John and Sally McCabe on June 12, 1895. She married Mark Chumley on Aug. 12, 1916. Living in Coke County for most of her life she devoted her life to her family, friends and community. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Robert Lee Baptist Church. The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of the Robert Lee Care Center for the wonderful care that Sadye was given. Sadye is survived by two daughters, Louise Leonard and Jo Marie Collier and husband, K.C., all of San Angelo; three grandchildren and spouses, Linda and Royce Walker of Big Spring, Paula and Noel Duncan of Knoxville, Tenn., and Kaci Addison of San Angelo; five great-grandchildren and spouses, Doby and Kasi Walker and Windy and Cary Brown, all of Big Spring, Cole Walker of Lubbock, Kelly Coleman of Dripping Springs and Lara Duncan of Knoxville; six great- great-grandchildren, Kodi Walker and Kaci Walker, both of Lamesa, Amber Fry, MaLinda Walker, Elizabeth Wheeler and Garrett Wheeler, all of Big Spring; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will be at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
