Services were at 10:00 am Friday, November 5, 1999, at the First Baptist church of Bronte. Burial followed in the Mule Creek Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. He is preceded in death by one son, Carl, and five nieces and 1 nephew. Chester is survived by his wife, Myrtice of Tennyson; one son, Chester C. Derrick of Grape Creek; two daughters, Shirley Hones of Orient and Wilma Lambert of Odessa; one sister, Irene Denton of San Angelo; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and cousins.
