San Angelo Standard-Times, September 9, 1999 FRANCES LEWIS KEMP BRONTE - Frances Lewis Kemp, 82, of San Angelo and formerly of Bronte, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, in a San Angelo hospital. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the First Baptist Church of Bronte with the Rev. R.W. Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home. Mrs. Kemp was born on April 6, 1917, in Calallen to Hugh and Lexie Lewis. She moved to Bronte in 1946, where she and her husband, Cecil, owned and operated Kemp's Cleaners. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil W. Kemp. She served on the Bronte City Council and was for seven years director of the local housing authority. She was a member of the Bronte chapter of the Eastern Star and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bronte. At the time of her death she was residing at Myrtlewood Estates in San Angelo and was a member of the First Baptist Church in San Angelo. Mrs. Kemp is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Marcato of Fairfield, Conn.; one brother, Hugh S. Lewis Jr. of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Robin Sue Marcato of New York City and Robert E. Marcato II of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; five nieces; one nephew; and many loving friends. I am the resurrection and the life. - John 11:25
