BYRD

L. D. Byrd, 77, of Robert Lee, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, in a local 
care center.

Services were held Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at the Pecan Baptist Church. 
Burial followed at the Robert Lee Cemetery.  Arrangements were by Shaffer 
Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; five children, L. D. Byrd, Jr. 
of Robert Lee, Barbara Clave of Robert Lee, Carl Byrd of Edgewood, Texas, 
Becky Burberousse of Jinks, Oklahoma, and Beth Latham of Odessa; sixteen 
grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Lee Byrd 
of Rotan.
