Bozarth, 97, of Robert Lee and formerly of San Angelo passed away Monday, February 19, 2001 in the Robert Lee Care Center. Services were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church of Robert Lee with Reverend Jim Reeves Officiating. Services were under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Brookie was born November 28, 1903, in Young County, Texas to Oscar Emil and Molly Benson Cook. She moved to Alpine at an early age and later attended Sul Ross University. She married Marshal Bozarth and they moved to El Paso and later to Robert Lee in the 1980's and then to San Angelo in 1987 and back to Robert Lee in 1998. She was active in ranching and breeding race horses along side her husband. She was a private pilot and a member of the Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshal Bozarth; brothers, Edwin and Edgar Benson and Oscar Emit Cook; and sister-in-law, Avis Cook. Brookie is survived by three newphew, Edwin Cook of Kerrville, Oscar Cook of Houston and Jim Cook of El Paso; one sister, Barbara Greer of Cedar Park, Texas; one brother-in-law, Curtis Bozarth of Lampasas; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Simank, Ester Lawhon, and Novis Hayhurst all of Lampasas.
