Services were held at 2:00 pm, Sunday August 26, 2001, at the Robert Lee Baptist Church in Robert lele with Brother Roy Epperson and Brother Waide Messer officiating. Burial followed in the Robert Lee Cemetery. Arrangements were by Shaffer Funeral Home. Louise was born November 7, 1915, in Panhandle, Texas to Arch and Annie Bryan. She attended elementary schools in Panhandle, Texas and Tabernash, Colorado and was able to skip 2nd grade. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1931. Louise married Ernest Clendennen on September 8, 1934, in Amarillo, Texas. They moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1941, while Ernest was serving in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Louise worked in a ladies dress shop and later for Northrup Aircrafts performing secretarial duties. The couple moved back to Amarillo in 1946 and to San Angelo in 1947. In 1949, they moved to Silver, Texas at the beginning of the oil boom and they moved to Robert Lee in 1984. Her passions in life were her family and watching her grandchildren participate in all of their extra curricular activities. She also enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and always made family members put a piece in the puzzle before they could eat! She and Ernest enjoyed many years of travel and always looked forward to planning their next adventure. She was involved in politics and loved a good battle. She was never embarrassed to let everyone know her opinion even when her position was unpopular. She had many letters published in the Editorial pages that always drew a barrage of letters and phone calls. Louise is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ernest Clendennen of Robert Lee; two sons, Allen Clendennen and wife, Carole of Robert Lee and Jim Clendennen and wife, Becky of Robert Lee; one sister, Alyce Decker of Scottsdale, Arizona; four grandchildren, Becky Halfmann & husband, Paul of Bronte, Dustin Clendennen of San Marcos, and Taylor Clendennen of Robert Lee; and four great-grandchildren, Cody and Kortney Halfmann of St. Lawrence, AShley Torres & Brayde Knight of Bronte. The pallbearers were C. R. "Butch" Service, Doug Wilkes, Donny Robertson, Donnie Devoll, Paul Knight, Ricky Halfmann, Dustin Clendennen, and Taylor Clendennen
