Services were held July 21, 2001 at the Water Valley Baptist Church where he was a longtime member. Burial followed in Water Valley Cemetery He married Artie Mae West on Dec. 22, 1933 in Bell County, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2001. Their marriage lasted 67 years. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Clinton and W. G. (Dub) Fincher. Mr. Fincher was a stock farmer. He also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and Water Valley Schools. The Finchers moved to Sterling County in 1948 and then to their homeplace in Water Valley in 1955. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Kenneth & Susan Fincher of Water Valley, Wayne and Sherri Fincher of Belton; two daughters and husbands, Glenda & Greer Willis of Pecos and Merle and Larry Kelso of Bronte and eight grandchildren.
