Z. Littlefield, 83, a longtime resident of Bronte and San Angelo, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at his residence. Audrell was born September 12, 1917, fifty miles from Lovington, New Mexido. His parents were the late O. Z. and Bertie Littlefield. He married Marceill Bell on May 18, 1943. Audrell worked for the Texas Peditory Control in Crane, Texas for four years; at Camp Barcley in Abilene; the North Concho Dam for twenty- seven month; and the San Angelo Fire Department for 23 years. Prior to his retirement, he worked nineteen years for Wilbourn Anderson. He bought the family farm in Bronte, where he raised cattle. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Marceill on August 2, 1987; two sons, Willard Wayne "Spunky" Littlefield and Robert Randall Littlefield; a sister, Violet Self; and a brother, Elgin Littlefield. Audrell is survived by four children, Zoe E. Marshall and husband Ken of Florida, Audrell Monroe "Jr." Littlefield and wife, Carolyn of San Angelo; Violet "Jeannie" Litlefield of San Angelo; and Delores "Dee" Ferguson and husband, David of Ballinger. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Sharon Zertucha, Connie McCulla, Theresa Abers, Dorothy Willis, Rosa Sims, Johnny Reid, Zoe Anna Parker, Ranae Mantz, Lynn Richeler, Audrey Kaffman, Tina Lange, Butch Ferguson, Lisa New, Michael Ferguson, Trina Donaldson, Marsha Jones, Lee Littlefield, Monroe Littlefield, Tammy Littlefield, Shawn Littlefield and Becky Littlefield; one sister Peggy Phillips; and numerous great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren; and special friend Opal Hoffman and Margie Searcy. Graveside service was held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 16, at Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas, officiated by Bobby Jones. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of San Angelo.
