"Bill" McAdoo, Jr., 75, of Robert Lee, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2001, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 7, 2001, at the Robert Lee Baptist Church with Reverend Walde Messer officiating. Funeral arrangements were by Shaffer Funeral Home. Bill was born January 1, 1926, in Coats, Kansas, to William, Sr. and Mildred McAdoo. He graduated from high school in Missouri before serving in the US Navy in World War II. He married Rachel Carter Scivally in Odessa in 1977. Bill was an oilfield truck driver, he retired and moved to Robert Lee in 1983. Bill played in several country western bands in Odessa and in Robert Lee, among them were the Big County Western Band and the Coke County Cavaliers. He was instrumental in helping organize the Senior Citizens Dances in Robert Lee over 15 years ago. He was a member of the Robert Lee Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his father, William McAdoo, Sr. and two sisters, Norma Townsend and Virginia Clements. Bill is survived by his wife, Rachel McAdoo; his mother, Mildred McAdoo both of Robert Lee; one son, Danny McAdoo of Buffalo, Missouri, one step son, Bobby Scivally of Muskogee, OK; three step daughters, Betty Brashear of Clyde, Janice Carthel of Hobbs, NM, and Shirley Timmons of Austin; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. of Clyde
