Graveside service was held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 10, 2001 at the Blackwell Cemetery. Service was under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. She was born September 7, 1901, in Colorado City, Texas to Jim and Naomi Vest. Gladys is survived by her husband, kenneth M. Pierson; one son, Grady Louis Coulter and wife, Dian; four grandsons. Nelson Coulter and wife Janie, Turney Coulter and wife, Christie, Timothy Coulter and wife, Denise, and Layne Coulter and wife, Gina; fourteen great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Naomi Vest; husbands Austin Coulter and John Wright, one son, austin Nelson Coulter; two brothers, Grady Vest and Marion Vest; one sister, Grace Perkins.
