Funeral services were held Saturday, July 20, 1002, at the First Baptist Church in Blackwell. Burial followed in the Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Survivors include three sons, Elvin Roy Chew of Abilene, George Chew of Bronte, John Edward Chew of Alvarado; three daughters, Juanita Belfield of Amarillo, Melba Shriver of Los Alamos, CO, Helen Hobbs of Winters; one brother, Oscar Clements of Euless; two sisters, Velma Walls of Fredrick, OK, Mattie Davis of Dover, OK; 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren Permission granted by the Observer/Enterprise for publication in the Coke County TXGenWeb Archives.
