San Angelo Standard-Times, This Week's Obituaries - 08/18/02 to 08/24/02 BETTY L HARP Elliot-Hamil Funeral Home ABILENE — Betty L. Harp, 75, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in an Abilene hospital. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Rocky Burrow officiating. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, in the funeral home. Mrs. Harp was born July 2, 1927, in Artesia, N.M., the daughter of Joseph and Bessie Johnson Caston. She attended school in Robert Lee, Texas, and married J. B. Harp in San Angelo in 1950. She moved to Abilene in 1955 from Jones County. She was an auditor for Merchants Fast Motor Lines, retiring after 29 ½ years. Survivors include her husband, J. B. Harp of Abilene; one son, Danny Harp and wife, Kathi, of Austin; one daughter, Julie Fritts of Austin; three brothers, Lowell Caston of Fort Stockton, and J. C. Caston and Clem Caston, both of Odessa; one sister, Evelyn Copple of Santa Anna; one sister-in-law, Leta Caston of Robert Lee; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Christopher Harp, Erik Harp, Blake Harp, Kevin Harp, and Michael Fritts.
