Reyes

Noverta 0. Reyes, 87, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Shannon Medical 
Center. 

Noverta was born June 6, 1914 in Shafter, Texas to Juan and Canuta 
Olivas. She was next to the oldest of fourteen children.   She married 
Manuel G. Reyes on August 17,1940.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Reyes, Sr and one son, 
Joe Reyes.

Survivors include five chil­dren, Olivia and husband, Matt Basquez, 
Toni and hus­band,  Michael Owens, Manuela and husband, George Eubanks, 
Manuel and wife, Luci Reyes, and Daniel and wife, Gayla; four brothers: 
two sisters, nineteen grand-children, and seventeen great grand-
children.

Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at Shaffer 
Funeral Home

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Noverta Reyes were held at 
10:00 am Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at Fairview Cemetery with Brother 
Morris Johnson officiating.  Pallbearers were grandsons, Martin, Ricky 
and Paul Basquez, George Eubanks, Joseph Reyes, and Joshua Eubanks.

She was a loving mother and grandmother to all her family and all who 
knew her.
