Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on July 30, 2002 at the Robert Lee Baptist Church with Reverend Garry Bivens officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Bronte. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Mr. Richards was born on January 3, 1911 in Runnels County, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Robert Lee. He was a member of the Coke County Farm Bureau, and he was a member of the Robert Lee Baptist Church. He was director for the Men’s Bible Class at the Rio Concho Manor. He was a retired stock farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Lee Hickman Richards, a great grandson, Christopher Shane Thompson, and a brother, William Neeley Richards. He is survived by his daughter, Frances Eulene “Dean” Percifull of Robert Lee; two brothers, Charles W. Richards of Pleasant Hill, CA, and Roy Buford Richards of Yuma AZ; a sister, Hattie VanHoy of Pleasant Hill, CA; nine grandchildren; Daniel Percifull, Anthony Percifull, Kellye Duncan, Joel Percifull, Patrick Percifull, Amy Carol Guinn; 18 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Willie Foreman of Bronte; two brother-in-laws, Fred Hickman of Fort Stockton, Ed Hickman of Kileen; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
