SEARS Shaffer Funeral Home Robert D. Sears, 48, of Carlsbad passed away Monday, April 28, 2003, at his home. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, in Grape Creek Cemetery. Robert was born Jan. 15, 1955, to Bill and June Sears in Hobbs, N.M. He graduated from Water Valley High School in 1973 and served in the United States Navy. He was employed by Holler Oil and was previously employed by the San Angelo State School. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Sears; and his brother, Charles Sears. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Sears of Bastrop, Texas; his mother, June Sears of Carlsbad; two brothers, Vernon Sears and Danny Sears and wife, Karen, all of Carlsbad; his grandmother, Opal Sears of San Angelo; a sister-in-law, Joyce Sears of Carlsbad; nieces and nephews, Josh, Justin and Christy Sears, Janna and Daniel Sears of Carlsbad, and Natosha Sears of Burnett; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Josh Sears, Justin Sears, and Daniel Sears along with his friends, Buzz Holler, Jamie Foster, Roger Ascol and Keith McCoulskey.
