The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Robert Lee, Coke County, TX - August 22, 2003 FRANK STANDEFER Frank Standefer, 76, of Robert Lee, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at his residence. Services will be held at 10:11 am Saturday, August 23, 2003 at South Side Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Robert Lee Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home. Frank was born on September 26, 1926, in Muleshoe, Texas, to Walter and Myrtle Standefer and married Iris Andrews on September 8, 1946. They moved to Lake Spence in 1979 and then to Robert Lee in 1996. He worked as a paint contractor in Lubbock for 40 years. He was a story teller who never let the facts get in the way of a good story. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golf. He was the happiest when all his family came to visit. Frank is preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Littlefield. Survivors include his wife, Iris Andrews Standefer of Robert Lee; one son, Pat Standefer of Lubbock; three daughters, Debbie Payne of Robert Lee, Janie Miller of San Antonio, and Kay Hurst of Robert Lee; one sister, Ruth Fariss of Amarillo; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five nephews; and four nieces.
