The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** San Angelo Standard Times - 04/20/03 to 04/26/03 Shaffer Funeral Home BRONTE — Twala Pearl Scott Timmons, 92, of San Angelo and formerly of Bronte, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2003, in Park Plaza Nursing Center, where she had made her home for more than eight years. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Central Baptist Church in Bronte, with the Rev. Lakan Mariano and the Rev. A.J. Kennemer Jr., both of San Angelo, officiating. Burial will be in Bronte Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Timmons was born on Oct. 10, 1910, in Erath County and later moved to Dawson County with her parents, the late J.E. Scott and Ava Trice Scott. She was married to B.G. Timmons on Dec. 23, 1930, in Lovington, N.M. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1962. Mrs. Timmons was the last of nine children, including three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her son, Charles Timmons and wife, Margaret, of Bronte; a daughter, Jean and her husband, Ross McSwain, of San Angelo; grandchildren, LaQueta Shelburne and husband, Harold, of San Angelo, LaRita Gayle Wilder and husband, Fred, of San Angelo and Tina Matthews of Fort Worth; seven great-grandchildren, Amy Turner and husband, Chris, of El Paso, Stephanie Williams and husband, Drew, of Oklahoma City, Jody Wilder and wife, Tanya, of Colorado City, Mercyla Fly and husband, Brad, of San Angelo, Mesha Shelburne of San Antonio, Meagan Shelburne of San Angelo, and Bradley and Brandon Matthews of Fort Worth. She also is survived by five great-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Zachery Turner of El Paso, Christin and Alexandra Williams of Oklahoma City, and Abigayle Shelburne of San Angelo; four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their most sincere thanks to the staff of Park Plaza Nursing Center for the loving care of Mrs. Timmons during her long residence there. Also, special thanks go to the staff of Hospice of San Angelo and the many friends who gave support and encouragement during her last days of life.
