The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Robert Lee, Coke County, TX - March 14, 2003 Travis "Buddy" West Travis "Buddy" West was born December 31, 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Pete and Ina West. He passed away on March 5, 2003, in San Angelo. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 9, 2003 at 2:30 pm at the Robert Lee Baptist Church officiated by Brother Ray Aldridge. Burial followed in the Robert Lee Cemetery. Pallbearers, the grandchildren of C. G. Richards, were Amber Richards, Jason Richards, Michael Bradley, Darryl Bales, Mark Bates, and Marshall Bales. Honorary pallbearers were Add Davis, Frank Sparks, Elmer Adkins, Bill Hall, Carlton Fields, and John Carver. Buddy moved with his family to Morton, Texas in 1947, where he worked as a carpenter until retiring to Robert Lee, Texas in 1985. He loved Robert Lee and the people here and was always ready to give a smile, a laugh or invite the community to share his garden, or take them fresh eggs. He was survived by C. G. Richards, who was his brother-in-law and by 30 nieces and newphews. He will be missed by all who ever knew him.
