All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/txfiles.htm *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Robert Lee, Coke County, TX - January 23, 2004 BAKER Margret Aenne Barbara Baker (Staat) long time resident of Bronte, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2004. Margret was born in Rheinhausen, Germany to Anna Margarete and Franz Josef Staat on May 13, 1942. She is survived by her loving husband, Boyd Baker of Bronte; Aunt Leni of Germany; brother Manfred Staat of Germany; sons, Thomas Harves of Oak Creek, CO, Michael Harves of Russell Spring, KY, Shannon Harves of Enid, OK and Terry Queen of Bronte; daughter, Marion Muller of Germany; and 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first and second husbands, and her uncle, Jupp Staat of Germany. Margret grew up in Stutgaard, Germany, and also lived in Rheinhausen and Frankfurt and came to the United States in 1963. She lived in Michigan and California before settling in West Texas. Margret spent the last 17 years working in home health care as an LPN. She traveled all over the Big Country and Concho Valley helping others in their time of need. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, fishing, care- giving, and spending time with or telling others about her grandchildren. Services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at First Baptist Church, Bronte, with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Margret's many friends for showing such love and care to her during her time of illness.
